Greenspan says debate on New Age economy is open

WASHINGTON, Oct 24 (Reuters) - U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said on Friday that the debate on whether the U.S. had entered a benevolent new era of economic growth was still open.

''This debate will continue for months or even years,'' he said.

Greenspan said his speech to the National Italian-American Foundation would concentrate on the demise of centrally planned economies following the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union.

''Centrally planned economic systems had great difficulty in creating wealth,'' he said, noting that the systems had created shortages and were too inflexible.

alex,
I have way to much gold also. I'm down only a bit more than I was up yesterday. I am going to buy though.
J.P.Morgan: Buy all the way down-sell all the way up.
