When elected officials are allowed to advance despite being corrupt you end up with a patronage system like Boss Tweed and Mayor Daly. It brings out the worst in people. People old enough to remember said that the difference between Chicago under Dillinger and Chicago under Daly was the bullets. The rest was reportedly just about the same. Here we have a product of that criminal mentality in the Whitehouse. Things will only get better when voters recognise their huge blunder. It appears from the poll numbers showing Americans oppose Porkulus that the American public has started to recognise the enormity of thier blunder.
