Well, we may not agree on the solutions to the problem, but at least we agree there is a problem to solve.

The only problem I currently see is that we're too dependent upon foreign oil and it's the primary part of our foreign trade deficit (ie: money leaving the US).

I'm not sold on GW and I think there is insufficient evidence that any recent warming is going to be evident past 2015-2020, given the expected significant decrease in sun spot activity. If anything, I fear a "Maunder Minimum" scenario even more than GW. And if the historical paleo-climatic record is to be believed, we're coming due for another cold spell.

Right now, the market thinks electric cars are the way to go, as evidenced by the massive investments all the majors are making in them.

Yep.. follow the markets.. The same markets that thought MBS's, CDOs, and CMOs were backed by real estate that couldn't decrease in value, right?

Make people pay more for cars they can't afford, right?
