Actually, our budget has exceeded a trillion dollars for many years. I assume you meant to say a trillion dollar deficit. You can thank Bush for that. We had trillion dollar deficits long before the CBO decided that we had one.

You may also have a short memory or understanding of government finance. However, I don't forget and I understand that the deficits they report are far short of the reality. Bush's off-record spending on wars alone guaranteed a deficit. Our deficits are far larger than anyone would imagine. The beginning of that downward spiral was the Bush tax cuts that were not needed, nor were asked for.
