I've watched this "stimulus" bill go through the Congressional maze with a defeatist shake of my head. I really can't believe that "our" elected representatives are doing this to us.

Way back when, when I joined the military, I took an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to bear true faith and allegiance to the same." When I left the military, they didn't "de-oath" me, and I've always felt that that oath still applies.

Now, here we have what I consider domestic enemies of the Constitution, and I really don't know exactly what I can do about it.

I really feel sorry for my kids and grandkids, for the problems they are inheriting. At the same time, I'm glad that I'm an old fart and won't be around to see the inevitable results of this shift in American ideals.
