There was more than that. Forcing prisoners to go naked with vicious dogs snapping at their heels and pictures taken of them in humiliating poses. All of that is against the Geneva Conventions. We've fallen so far away from our core values in this country that it has sickened me. How many innocents were ensnared in that dragnet? I'm sure we caught some pretty evil people and maybe its easy to believe they deserved the treatment. However, we've become no better than our enemies. And forget about the moral implications for now. Do we really believe that doing these things are helping us win the hearts and minds of all the moderate Muslims out there? Or are we radicalizing them too, even as we alienate our allies? We need to start thinking more strategically. The means impact the end that is achievable.
