We already won on the battlefield both in Iraq and in Afghanistan, and yet the war still goes on. I'm telling you that in the Middle East, they love nothing better than fighting thousand year wars. We simply can't afford to fight them like the Israelis do. It is already bankrupting us. We need to find a better way.

The way I'm proposing is to remove our key incentive for giving two shits about them in the first place: oil. It also has the benefit of removing a key source of funding for them. It also removes our incentive for having our entire foreign policy dictated by how we can best secure our oil supplies. In our blind attempts to secure oil, we occupy Muslim lands, prop up Kings and Dictators in those lands, and fight wars on their lands. No wonder they are pissed at us. If we didn't need their oil, we would do none of those things, and we could focus on selling them goods instead and not worry about them wanting to kill us every day.

It's a no-brainer. We have a choice: continue a ruinously expensive thousand year war or end our oil addiction and end the causes of our disagreement with Muslims.
