I didn't say Israel tortures. I have no evidence of that and have not read anything that would indicate that. However, they are locked in a death spiral with the Palestinians and if we don't want to be in the same situation, we need to take a different approach. As you pointed out, they get shelled on a daily basis by rockets. We're lucky enough not to have land contiguous with those monsters in the Middle East. As such, we need to figure out ways to not be dependent on them for oil. We already have the advantage of not needing them for anything else. BTW, if you are looking to me as someone sympathetic to the Palestinians, so that you can rail on me, you should look elsewhere. You won't find someone more dedicated to Israel than me. However, I also don't want to see this country land in the same position as Israel with respect to the Muslims. Israel has 1 billion enemies. We don't necessarily have to go down that road.
