My interpretation of the following incident is that Reagan was undergoing
"senile memory fusion" at that time, early stages of Altzheimer. If so, it
got masked generally pretty well since he was able to run again for
President and continue to fool most of the people most of the time. I was
never among the fooled. This occurred during his first administration,
the country was subsequently duped in reelecting a failing old man.
