To be fair, maintenance has also been deferred because it is sexier to build new roads, highways and bridges than to make sure the old ones are fixed.

Ted, please provide a link demonstrating said "budget cuts" to highway maintenance.

Infrastructure is just fine here in Orange County. I remember it being just fine in Seattle and Portland as well, not to mention the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Even in New York, it was just fine to me (though New York could always use improvements).

The only place where the infrastructure sucks is Los Angeles, but that's a local problem.
