No, what he said was that North Carolinians damned well ought to take it because they're going to have to pay their share back.

You cannot argue with that. If you're going to have the debt shoved down their throats, it would be insane not to take the money that flows from it. Whatever it is.

They (and we) are assuming $3,000 debt for every man, woman and child in the nation. If a state can get 1/4 or 1/3 that amount out of the deal they'd be nuts not to take it.
