<<I like Krugman the best. Obama made a funny comment a few weeks ago which I found interesting. He said: "and if Krugman has an idea we like we will use his ideas". Sort of a strange comment.>>

Not strange at all. Krugman is ultra liberal so President Obama looks to him for ideas. What the comment implies is that Krugman isn't coming up with any good ideas though.

I know about Summers and Geightner Max and that worries me. But economics at the level we need to understand it here is beyond me.

Koan with all due respect, economics is not beyond anyone here. You simply refuse to see the obvious as well as what is logically true beyond a shadow of a doubt.

The Obvious
1) You cannot spend your way to prosperity
2) There is no free lunch

That is the obvious.
The reason you are having difficulty is you are listening to clowns like Krugman and Geithner who tell you what you want to hear.

This is what Kaon wants to hear
1) It is possible to spend your way to prosperity
2) There is a free lunch

The difficulty you face is your inner brain understands the obvious while your speaking brain does not. And the reason you cannot understand "economics at the level you need to understand it" is you keep listening to idiots promising a free lunch and your inner brain knows that is flat out stupid.

This is why you are confused:You refuse to accept the obvious. Your only hope economically speaking is to believe the obvious and stop believing what you want to hear.
