"unrecognized bars cost you less and therefore you get less for them. It works out the same. Always buy unrecognized bars IMO. The premium for Johnson Matthey and Englehard are not worth the extra investment. You get more silver for your monney with unrecognized bars. BTW Perth Mint bars are not recognized even though Kitco deals with the Perth Mint. Northwest Territorial Mint are not recognized either in fact no one is except Englehard (out of business) and JM. It's all horse excrement IMO. .999 is .999 as long as you are confident in the refiner
