Why do we need two incomes to support a family anyway? Real estate is too expensive? That can change. Can't drive the kids anywhere without an SUV? Well we could lower the middle class standard of living... in fact I don't think we will have a choice. Or we could flatten the wage curve, make it like is used to be when mostly only the husband worked. As to why, you tell me. I don't think the mothers started working by choice, I think it was economic necessity.
