Only if the rumor is bought first. I think you will get one, but not two winning days out of this event. The exception would be if the strategy were so obviously what the market wants, which now I think is modification of mark-to-market.

If the bank rescue plan changes mark-to-market, then at least in the short run it will fly IMHO.

I'm actually itching to buy, just not the financial issues.

As to how much you can lose in UYG, it is limited to what you wagered. Normally, with a stock, if it goes to zero, it does so over (usually) a lot of time. If the banks are nationalized, you could wake up at zero with UYG.
