I think it's been going on since 1998, starting with the completely needless rescue of Long Term Capital Management. Prior to that, what you had was a typical stock market bubble that would have deflated itself. But instead of "taking the punch bowl away," the Fed just spiked it with stronger stuff.

I see what you are saying. He did give us another bubble with easy credit. Yeah, things would be much different now. Sometimes I wonder if he got carried away because of 911.

60 Minutes this week interviewed a mortgage company whistle blower. The company that employed him actually advertised that it did not do income verifications. UFB.

I think Greenspan was right when he said the market was displaying "erogenous exuberance"
He allowed it to feel good.
