Jim:

Wonder if anyone in the world considers New York City a safer place to live or not?

Statistics can be made utilized to tell many differing stories without a full understanding.

Why aren't these stats mirrored in Europe then?

here is the reason:

In Europe there was gun control many years ago and the population wasn't used to owning them. Australia is just a wannabe America but with a population descended from criminals. Now they ban certain guns but the criminals didn't care and still have them. So essentially it was already too late for OZ as it is for the USA. Guns are a fact of life, a sad life.

Lifestyle is far better in countries with no guns. But things are different now and Americans need to arm themselves to defend themselves from the government soon.
