The "do something" crowd always claims to have the majority of economics and public opinion behind them, but that's no different than the mentality that we can please all the people all the time. This isn't based on my opinion. Economists have been polled for their opinion. The vast majority believe we have a serious credit crisis. You're simply regurgitating what flakes like Graham, Shelby and Sessions are spouting.
