What 'larger argument'?

Ideas like "the stimulus package that was passed was good for the US", or if the particular package was bad for some reason, that fiscal stimulus is a reliable policy to deal with economic downturns, or that its generally a good idea.

If your only points are that "China had a stimulus package", and "some economists predict China will grow faster for the rest of the year", and nothing else whatsoever, well OK, then there is no issue of hanging larger arguments on anything, but those aren't exactly very interesting or useful points in isolation.
