I've been reading a number of predictions from many quarters as to the societal shifts (positive ones) which may occur if we move through this disaster in the best way possible --a bit like steering the sinking Titanic through icebergs, I know. The prediction that interests me the most is that there may be a resurgence of creative thought in the US, as well as its reestablishment closer to the center of American life. I also think it will be a long time before people will take for granted the activities in industry and in the gov't. To me, the leaders of this country, whether in the gov't or in industry, have had a free ride for decades. I think that will change in the future. Its like the last two years have been a major wakeup call for Americans.
