Price of oil sometimes lags the price of Gasoline. There's only so much refining capacity. There can be a glut of oil but a limited supply of gasoline. Demand may rise in the short term putting pressure on the gasoline reserves and it's price.

That being said, the idiots reference to watermelon was unwarranted.
