Well, he said 75 years, and I've also read that after the baby boomers are gone, the demographics for the program are far more favorable.

With all due respect, after the massive tax increase in the 1983 amendments, we were assured the system would remain solvent for guess how long? 75 years. Now, we're 25 years down the road and guess what? Yep.

This program probably cannot be fixed. Your presumption that dying baby boomers solves the problem is absurd.

Ponzi Scheme: A fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to investors from the own money or money paid by subsequent investors rather than profit.

I cannot think of a better description of Social Security.

This problem is made possible by the SS trust fund utilizing cash basis accounting rather than accrual basis accounting. Thus, people do not understand the nature of the problem, which accounts for your remarks on the subject.

Pretty strong language calling the current President an idiot after a couple of weeks, the past 8 years in my opinion defined that term much more accurately...

I'm just looking at the mess he's made in a few short weeks. By any reasonable measure his first month has been incompetent.

Probably not forever. Fertility is lower than it used to be, and people are living longer. Unless those trends change they will eventually result in a worse demographic situation for SS than the baby boom generation.
