Only problem I have with the whole thing is it was a witch hunt. Fitzgerald knew in the first days of the investigation where the leak came from but then spent the next 6 months trying to get someone to misstep so he could prosecute.

I'm coming to that conclusion as well. I'd forgotten about the Plame affair, and now that it comes back to mind it seems like much ado about nothing.

So why did he lie? Makes no sense.

I'm with Cheney. Presidents are given this power expressly for cases like this where the the law was served but not justice.
