Heck I thought he was serious as well.

You thought I would be wasting my hard-earned money on carbon credits?

LOL. I can assure you there is no danger of me ever buying carbon credits for ANYTHING, even the hours I put on my Cessna Citation.

As for having a 5,000 ft2 house, it would HAVE to be energy-efficient. I can't imagine paying the utility bill for heating and air-conditioning, much less worry about my "carbon footprint."

It is pretty cheap actually. The typical electric bill for the house is about $100. The entire house is electric and heavily insulated. There is not a single incandescent bulb in it. Half of it is underground, so cool in summer and relatively warm in winter. The lower half is a self contained apartment...so we really don't live in it...my wife's dad does. And I am aiming to convert the entire house to PV electric...
