Switzerland plans to sell 1400 tons of gold (subject to vote) in 1999.

The announcement is that they intend to sell after 1999. This says a lot. IMO It says, "We'll think about selling after the 'Year 2000' crises, but we'll make our intentions look good."

Rich,
RE: Swiss Gold Sale
I overheard this at a grocery store in Denver today.
man 1: I'll buy all I can afford tommorrow if I can get it at this spot.
man 2: The Swiss are a very smart people who never let their central government have but the bare minimum of power. I bought 200 shares XXX
Friday.
man 1: I understand it will take a constitutional amendment & a referendum(sp?) of all voters passed with 3/4
man 2: that's right.
man 1: it will never happen! they can't even agree on one language.
man 2: ha-ha
many see this with great concern. Others joined me to buy friday.
many more would have bought more coin Saturday had it not been for this blizzard!
