I said it before and will say it again. Within a year Obama will be as hated as Bush was as folks realize most of his campaign promises were lies. THE STORY SO FAR: OBAMA & THE RIGHT Obama's moves to the right Pushed for what appears to be the largest tax cuts in American history in order to placate the right. He is also only the second president in American history to institute tax cuts during a war. George W. Bush was the other one. Named the most conservative cabinet of any Democratic president of modern times. Plans to expand the failed war in Afghanistan. Has come out in support of the right wing approach to public education. Is expanding Bush's so-called faith based programs. Obama's retention of rightwing programs Refuses to end renditions His Attorney General plans to continue secret searches of library and bookstore data files. Will not prosecute Bush administration members for war crimes Refuses to object to Karl Rove's claim of executive privilege in refusing to cooperate with a congressional investigation. Sam Smith

A newspaper article would have kept it a lot shorter. Wordy SOB's don't help in these dire times. I think that without a local newspaper, the community loses its identity. Pretty faces reading cue-cards on the 9 o'clock put us to sleep all right, but they don't stimulate or agitate or really inform on the little things going on. Western democracies were built on & are kept healthy by a healthy fourth estate. We've let newspaper monopolies run down what used to be family run enterprises. A well run paper will get read. We're not a nation of morons, or are we? Ads never get read on the internet. An ad in your local newspaper will get you more results than a spot ad on TV. It just takes some better management on the part of the local paper. Of course, when Zionists run both papers in a large city like Chicago, the readership has to suffer thru the owners' ineptitude and slanted view. We'd all like to read a representative voice. In Chicago, such a voice was shut down. THE SOUTHTOWN ECONOMIST was a great little paper with fresh writing & a healthy circulation. Thanks to SUN TIMES (JERUSALEM POST) management that paper has withered to nothing. One more time, it's been bad management not the internet that has run down our newspapers. The corporation in the form it has taken in our country is the root of all our problems. Miscreants/politicians rule us.
