It's true that the publishing industry, in any case newspapers, is having issues with the internet and how to profit from it (charge a subscription fee like WSJ? The NYT isn't sure what to do. They tried charging for popular columnists for a while and that didn't work. I read them on the internet now.

Since you posted the above comments, at least two major newspapers have filed BK and tonite, I heard that the SF Chronicle may shut down. We are losing the newspapers without a solid media infrastructure existing on line to replace them. Most of the online sites are not originators of the news but rather a regurgitation of stories found in the wires or newspapers. Not good.
