Or 3 if the Incas are right. Although I read somewhere that the reason for the "mysterious" ending in the Incan Codex is that the Spaniards destroyed the volume that followed the one that ended in 2012. Probably have, optimistically, about fifteen years left.

As depressing as it is I think your right. Even if there is a backlash the next group won't be able to unravel the damage that is going to be done. Guess it's time to sign up for welfare and hang around outdoor cafes and whine about the world we live in.
