Bubbles inevitably burst of their own weight. They're inherently unstable. Pretty much what ended the dot com bubble, too.....Basically when there's no more money/credit/wampum that can be thrown in, it ends. Housing went on so godawful long because the Masters of the Universe kept devising even more insane mortgage instruments and found every last greater fool on the planet to sell them to. Which is why we hear of insolvency now in Norweigian townships and Bulgarian banks.
