That is divergence and while it wont predict the direction of the market it is a warning sign. At least that is what I have observed over the years.

During the weakness in POG the gold stocks COLLAPSED as one looks at the ratios.(see charts)
That ratio has been steadily getting lower, so situation i see as getting better.
In case of IAG, it's ratio now LOWER thasn in the past 2 yeas
