Gold down $16.10 in New York. Dow closed down 132. Did we see the old classic DCB in the Hang Seng and Nikkei markets last night? I guess if stocks can have them, markets can have them too.

<< deflationary recession.>> This is a very interesting possibility. I noticed last night that a Shell Oil gas station cut price to .99 and a near by discounter is charging 1.04. Seems to be a subtle weakness going on in pricing. Also all the fast food places are falling all over themselves advertising .95 for their big sellers. Trouble is, once they get you in they want $ 1. for a bag of fires, and .95 for a soda.
