America is a conservative (small c)nation but the political spectrum has moved considerably to the left now that bushism has been repudiated. Back in college days there were always arguments going on between libertarians and equalitarians (lack of better term). Some libetarians used to be against civil rights because of property rights and rights of folks to be racists if they want. They didnt see how harmful such a view could be. Once settled spectrum moved and libertarians without that baggage again made cogent arguments. Now the idea of american as world cop and supply side without restrains or consideration of where economic weakness lies is discredited and like the island on lost the spectrum has moved left. Maybe we can get some of those reasonable cons back into solving the problems rather than whining about their fate and wishing obama ill. There are many of us that are now told we are on the left who feel more truly conservative in nature than those fools who follow rush on this board.
