Joe:

Maybe we're disagreeing about semantics.

they did and were the best team in the AL WHEN IT COUNTED!!

I agree with that statement. All I'm saying is if I were betting on a team that would have the best record for a 162 games (the overall best team) for a season, not for a two week stint, I'd bet on the Braves. I don't think anyone can hang with their pitching staff over the long run.

But as you rightly said, right now, Cleveland is currently the best team in the AL, as everyone else is playing golf. (Given the temperature in Cleveland, some of them might want to be playing golf also.) ;)

And with you I say, Go Tribe!

KMT

P.S. Reggie Jackson was a decent baseball player. Like you say though, when it counted, there aren't many better than Mr. October. Do you think Sandy Alomar could be the knew Mr. October. It's time for him to run for Mayor of Cleveland.

I agree, Joe. The purpose of the post-season is for the best teams to prove who's really the best. The team who wins the World Series is the best team in baseball. The rest of the teams can admit it, or they can make excuses. I hope the Tribe can pull it off, but if they don't, I don't want to hear anyone saying Cleveland was really the best team - they have to prove it this weekend, no excuses.
