shorting a $5 stock is foolish EXCEPT in certain instances-
i cite aklm and aipn as recent examples-
bullish peaks propelled these stocks to 6 month{and all time highs respectfully}
i have done nothing here but give sound advice to longs and shorts-
backed by my now current track record in aipn taxi +++
wall st$0-
i post trades the way i see them and a base according to basic chartists is a 4-7 week average-
i would like to see that average in the marginable level-
because future shorts will prevent the price from becoming overbought
and thus at what is called market price-
shorts could not get in before to make the chart bullish- as they cannot now-
not to confuse but MM shorts do not count- {some here refer to them wrongly as "illegal" shorts}
if we have a marginable level for 4+{most likely for 6 weeks-
I will then most likely take a LONG position of 5-$50k and daytrade off the buying power of said position and HOLD aipn as a core-
selling some off only when i feel that the stock is overbought-
and then maybe even closing if we get to a plus 55% in a short time- depending on money flow and volume and of course that great undertow called buying pressure-
in an extreme overbought or "top" I could then comfortably short knowing i had a 55% cushion-
i may feel that extreme measures come at a lower gain or at a higher gain depending on price/vol/chart action-
yes it is a lot of work-
but it will keep me from making the wrong moves and keep my day trading equity marginable-
and by not rushing in HERE i limit my downside risk exponentially-
while the upward gain of 10% here is negligible-
{thus taking most of the gamble out of the game and setting my account into a semi auto pilot pertaining to aipn-}
if this is too much for you- sorry-
and BTW what are you going to do?
ride the rollercoaster in an unmarginable stock while the buying and trading opportunities available currently disappear into someone else's bank account?
