I was looking forward to the lay-offs of State employees Schwarzenegger promised.

I was only uneasy because I need to get my Driver's License renewed in a few months.

If they had agreed to drill offshore they could have borrowed against the leases and lived to die another day.

Reaper, CA government has grown twice as fast as population and inflation combined over the last ten years.

inflation and population growth total a 50% increase in 10 years.

CA government grew at 100%

twice as fast.

twice as fast.

the LIARS in the CA government have a LIE for a talking point.

"CA wants all these services and so they are going to have to pay for them."

that'sa LIE.

i know of not a single person that asked for CA government to grow at twice the rate of population growth and inflation combined. i know of not a single person that wanted to throw a 30% pay increase at the prison guards during the dot com bubble. i know of not a single person who wants to pay $100k to high school graduate prison guards. i know of not a single person who wants to fund that $100k salary during their 30 years of retirement. i know of not a single person that wants a government to blow $200 million on a payroll system that doesn't work and nobody is fired for gross incompetence.

not a single one.

these were all lobbyist handout payola and now these rat b*stards are trying to put this off on the CA taxpayers - they expect to get $64 billion in new taxes out of this.

here's a not so secret secret. they'll be back for more in 3-6 months b/c this isn't enough. they need their pay raises. they need to keep 100% of their union lobbyist employees working while the rest of CA suffers a 17+ and growing true unemployment rate.

all the republicans signed a no tax pledge and they LIED. their signature is WORTHLESS. one of the guys named valines (sp???) was on a radio show and he said, at least 10 times during the interview, they would not raise taxes, that taxes didn't work, that this was a spending problem, etc...

he then negotiated the biggest state increase in the history of the union.

*all* the republicrooks where in on it as they *refused* to knock out their leaders who negotiated the largest tax increase in union history in spite of their signatures on a no new tax pledge - all voluntarily signed before they were elected last november.

listen to john and ken on kfi640 (kfi640.com) for follow up. they are on those SOBs like white on rice.

PS - i actually don't mind this too much as i'm a saver and in pretty good condition right now. i always wanted to trade up my house and now it looks like i'll be able to buy my next house at a sizeable discount to the pre tax value as people leave this state in droves. of course, i do need to stay employed, but i am over worked and a large portion of our business is government surveillance hardware. i suspect the demand for such products will be one of the few growing industries.
