So you've had experience in all three places.

Yes, I found much more in common with the folks who lived there year round-- the massage therapists, stonemasons, and carpenters, than the people who flew in for holidays.

I signed away half the house my ex- and I built and haven't returned in 14 years. I miss the light there,those few people, and the way the fog lifts dramatically every day, but not much else.

I'm semi-secretly hoping for a RE crash there, hoping some very small old "camp" that's never been renovated will come on the market for a reasonable price.
