I think that's understood by those in the know, but what exactly is "it"?

Michael talks about the pendulum swinging too far in the direction of supply-side economics, so why not try a little demand-side stimulation, Keynesian-style? To him, that's what "it" is, which is a lot more well-defined than what other supporters of Obama can come up with.

Personally I don't think that's going to go anywhere. All it will succeed in doing is greatly expand federal government, and we'll still be stuck in a credit-freeze. Resussitating banks is one thing, but getting them to lend again is yet another.

Consumer confidence will return once all of this debt is worked off. That's the bottom line. Too bad I can't think of any easy way to do that, even if I were in Obama's shoes.
