It's simple math. It's not debatable in my opinion.

If one is arguing affordability and ignores the effect of interest rates on affordability they are missing a large part of the picture.

When I hear that someone is posting longer term median house prices against median income and ignoring the effect of interest rates it sounds to me like they are lying with carefully chosen statistics. I haven't read the article, I am going on second hand impressions.
