I agree with Jim on this. It's the same reason republicans ended up casting the necessary vote on the stimulus bill. There is some sort of psychological affliction in the party that seems to stem from the constant vilification by the left. I think the GOP needs to act more like Dems in terms of stiff spines. Hold onto the principles and screw the left's criticisms. People can smell it when a person is faltering. It happens on the job. It happens with juries. And it happens in politics.
