My LP(a) has been as high as 372 (mg/dL) (2004). It was 89 in 2006 and 31 the last time I checked it, which was right before I started this diet. I have no idea what caused the drop or how much of that can be attributed to using different labs. 31 is still high by TYP standards but a great relief to me considering where it was.

All of the TYP people with this problem are taking niacin and extra Omega 3's daily.

I'm still on 500 mg niacin. My doctor has been shaking her head whenever I ask about increasing it. I've been waiting until I got this last blood test to raise the subject again. I will also ask about reducing my blood pressure and cholesterol meds.

I've got the Omega 3s well covered, though. I get 3-4 grams a day from sashimi and I take fish oil irregularly on top of that.
