JOHN GOOD MORNING !
The past week and half have really tested the confidence in the technology stocks . I still feel as I stated earlier we will see 1575 on the NASD before we see a christmas rally . WE have not quite got to the point where they "throw the baby out with the bathwater" . Still feel very strong about INTEL and CPQ for the long term for different reasons :

1) CPQ - HAS A LOT OF MARKET SHARE THEY CAN GROW +THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE SUB 1000 PC WITH A PROFIT MARGIN OF 9% + THE TAMDEN BUY GIVES THEM A STRONG FOOT HOLD IN THE SERVER MARKET

2) THE ONLY QUESTION I HAVE ABOUT INTEL FOR THE SHORT TERM IS HOW THEY HANDLE THE SUB 1000 PC MARKET IN ORDER TO KEEP BRAND RECONIGTION FOR REPEAT CUSTOMERS . THE " KILLER APPLICATIONS" EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT TO BUY A HIGH END MACHINE ARE AVAILABLE - THE ONLY QUESTION IS BANDWIDTH TO DELIVER AND TO BE ABLE TO USE THESE APPLICATIONS . HOPEFULLY CSCO AND OTHERS CAN HELP RESOLVED THIS ISSUE IN 1998

Starting to become tempted with the price of AMAT and several other technology stocks

BEST WISHES
BILL.
