That removes the thorns in Excel's relationship with disgruntled IRs and clears the table for better morale. The payment of $1.7 million may seem like a lot, but given the size of the organizations I understand the IRs had and the necessity for Excel to get this out of the way and move on to more rewarding activities, this settlement sounds pretty fair.
