iran is rational

Their behavior, as exhibited by their president, has not been rational for the last several years. While there is no doubt Iran's people are more rational than Ahmedenijad, you cannot deal with that man. He is the public face of the country, and we must act as though he is person we're dealing with. If they get a new president we can see how things change.

So long as Iran is supporting terrorism against Israel, they must be considered irrational terrorists.

al quaeda is not. They are not the same. arab/persian, shiaa/sunni etc.

They are not the same but they are both terrorist organizations. AFTER they show signs of moving away from terrorism it is appropriate for us to engage them at a VERY LOW LEVEL ONLY to see if any kind of diplomatic arrangement can be reached.

To think that israel can do something positive by attacking iran flying over an area that is verboten to them, is beyond me.. The most aggressive military folks here say you need at least three or four days of bombing to have any last effect.

We'll see what happens.
