Very ironic is that we might end up "winning in iraq" while losing in the war, everyone says they are for in afganistan.

I fear we will lose in Afghanistan. I don't think there is any way we would have under a stronger leader like Bush. But when the going gets tough, we could see Obama bail quickly. He can't take the political heat Bush had to take to win in Iraq.

By the way 60 minutes had a very positive story on basra last night..

There was a positive story about Iraqi women this weekend on when I was at the gym. It was about how women are starting to get more freedoms in Iraq. They were always freer than other Arab states but in the last 3 years, as the Shia got more powerful, their lives became more restricted. In the past year, that seems to have changed......they are wearing more makeup, no veils, driving cars, etc.

The bad news.......they are still ugly. <g>
