Inode, > I once watched a great counter work at Fitz in Tunica -- a total lowroller joint -- he was playing 300 in green and the guy spread to 5 hands on a reserved table. The pit was coming unglued trying to figure out his angle and the guy was as cool as a person could get. I was at the next table and literally stopped my game to watch the guy; he was great.

What were his tricks? I could think of a few, but this is coming from an amateur:

- Don't bet the minimum straight out of a shuffle.
- Let the bet ride on winning hands even if it's more than the count calls for.
- Learn a different counting system. Some pit bosses know how to do the basic Hi-Lo system.

By the way, have you seen the movie "21" with Kevin Spacey? Go rent it if you feel like reminding yourself just how much Hollywood doesn't get it.
