frenchy, unless they are complete imbasiles. i look for major turmoil monday with gold moving back up. but look for the stock markets to crash again. the scenario of foreign currency weakness has many ramifications in the us. as the foreign countries currency goes down the drain, they can't afford our products. their products become bargains, which causes our businesses devistation. their currency holdings go way up as our trade imports go way up,but our trade balance skyrockets and eventually we have to raise interest rates to keep our currency from crashing. bottom line, americans will be put out of work and recession will follow. one other aspect to be aware of , the pundits say that deflation is good for you. oh yeah, the 20 thou car you bought is now available for 15 thou or the 200 grand house you bought is available for 160 grand. this is good to first time buyers but if you have a mortgage which is larger than the worth of the asset, what good is deflations as all of your equity disappears. never before have the economists faced a global scenario like this. i can tell you this, ross perot was right about free trade as well as some of the other. free trade will bring your living standard down to the lowest level of your trading partner. just ask the chicken workers at tyson. vargas
