Britain's economy may be contracting at an even more rapid pace than previously feared. Bank of England said last week in minutes to its latest rate-setting meeting that the Office for National Statistics could on Wednesday be forced to slash its preliminary estimate, which showed a quarterly drop of 1.5 per cent.
