and that is to make sure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.
Hmmm, your logic is flowed. If you allow Israel to protect itself, you must allow Iran to protect itself too. Iran guarantees that if it was hit, Tel Aviv will be turned into rubble. You can wish what you want, the Israelis are not stupid and will not take that chance.
