I think this stuff had its roots in the GOP of the Reagan years. But you were in training pants in the Reagan years. You don't know anything about it. There is a real fascist component to their thinking. I agree. Ha. Every move toward fascism throughout this country's existence has come from the Left, never the Right. Wilson. FDR. LBJ. And a person has to be blind not to see it in Obama today.

silent majority and southern strategy was nixon. Principled conservatives like goldwater went into opposition until reagan in 1976 and then 1980. Goldwater/Reagan balance supply side stimulus alongside of fiscal discipline. Like obama said the other day, its hard to balance budgets in times like this---reagan had same issues in his first term. Same with FP. Reagan bugged out of lebanon and was for glasnost with USSR. Both were opposed by radical repubs. Those more radical repubs ran things under bush for the most part and we see the remnants on this thread in inode and others. When the economic problem is demand side and fp doesnt have a monolithic opponent and is fought assymetrically the repubs have little to offer. So they adopt nancy reagans slogan of "Just Say No" on every issue. Joke is they think this is a winning proposition for them but what they dont see is that they are being blamed for not helping more than obama is being blamed for the imperfections.
