The next question is why that matters. There are like dozens of car makes out there. Consolidation is what you worry about, but consolidation is also a natural trend in mature markets that have too many suppliers.

Speaking of consolidation, how come the consolidation of labor into the hands of the few is a good thing? Lots of laborers outside of Detroit would like to have jobs, too.
